The National Institute of Health (NIH) has issued an urgent advisory regarding dengue in light of current seasonal trends, calling on health organizations to heighten awareness and take preventive action against the disease.
The advisory emphasized that the dengue virus is spread by Aedes mosquitoes, which are easily recognized by their distinctive black and white stripes.
With more than 8,900 cases reported in Pakistan this year, the threat remains substantial as the nation, along with over 100 other countries, faces dengue outbreaks.
Health authorities have been directed to enforce precautionary measures to effectively curb the virus’s spread. This advisory aims to strengthen efforts in managing the dengue epidemic as the season advances.
