The 127th Urs of the esteemed Sufi poet Hazrat Khwaja Ghulam Farid began on Wednesday in Kot Mithan, Rajanpur district.
Devotees from across the country are flocking to participate in the celebrations, which started on the 5th of Rabi’ul-Thani.
Prior to the event, Deputy Commissioner Shafqatullah held a meeting to assess the arrangements for the pilgrims. The district administration has instructed the health department to set up medical camps and has directed MAPCO to prevent load shedding during the Urs.
The Municipal Committee is responsible for ensuring sanitation, providing clean drinking water, and maintaining food hygiene at the stalls.
Civil Defence is implementing comprehensive security measures, including searches and screening at Darbar Farid.
Traffic police have been assigned to manage parking and ensure smooth traffic flow during the event, while key officials from Rescue 1122, police, public health, and other departments are coordinating efforts to ensure the comfort and safety of all attendees.
