Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has officially introduced the “Ikhtiar Awam” portal, a platform designed to improve communication between citizens and the government.
Speaking at the launch event in Peshawar, Gandapur highlighted that the portal allows people to directly file complaints, emphasizing that effective governance requires open dialogue between the public and authorities. “Our officers must prioritize public welfare. If development work is happening in your area, inspect it yourself,” Gandapur urged. He noted that the portal will enhance governance by ensuring that officers address public concerns.
He further explained that any unresolved complaints would be escalated to higher authorities, adding, “This system will refine the process of reward and punishment.”
Separately, Gandapur addressed allegations that the Afghan Consul General had disrespected the Pakistani national anthem, clarifying that no such issue occurred. “The Afghan consulate has provided an explanation, stating they have also omitted music from their own anthem,” he added.
Gandapur also discussed regional issues, including illegal mining in merged tribal areas, stressing that tribal communities would have control over mining rights. He underlined the importance of collaboration with local leaders to maintain peace and order.
Additionally, he announced that many security checkpoints would be removed and the traditional jirga system would be reinstated to help restore peace.
