Hera Pheri 3 is one of those Bollywood projects that has the potential to break all records upon its release. Fans of the franchise have long been eagerly awaiting the return of the iconic trio: Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal. Although the trio reunited last year with plans to start filming, production was halted due to a legal issue surrounding the franchise. However, the way is now clear for the film, as Firoz Nadiadwala has resolved these legal matters.
Firoz Nadiadwala has entertained audiences for years with films like Hera Pheri, Awara Paagal Deewana, Phir Hera Pheri, Welcome, and more. Last year, he sparked excitement by announcing a reunion with Akshay Kumar for the third installment of Welcome (Welcome to the Jungle). He further thrilled fans by planning to move forward with Hera Pheri 3. Unfortunately, despite shooting a promo, the film was sidelined due to a legal dispute between Firoz and Eros.
For those unaware, when Firoz Nadiadwala aimed to produce Hera Pheri 3, Eros issued a legal notice demanding that approximately 60 crores in dues be cleared before the rights to the film could be transferred. Now, according to a report from Pinkvilla, the producer has settled all his debts, regaining the rights to the Hera Pheri franchise and several other films.
A source close to the developments revealed, “Firoz has paid off the dues and obtained a No Due Certificate from the court regarding Hera Pheri and other films. He is now free to pursue these projects as he wishes and is committed to entertaining the audience with a strong comeback.”
Over the years, Hera Pheri 3 has made headlines multiple times, but the ongoing legal battle between Firoz Nadiadwala and Eros disrupted plans. Now that the case has been resolved, the film is officially greenlit.
The source added, “Hera Pheri 3 is a dream project not only for Firoz but also for the original trio of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty. They are all thrilled that Firoz has settled the lien, allowing them to focus on the creative and logistical aspects of bringing the film to life.”
Additionally, important plans regarding the Hera Pheri threequel are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, filming for Welcome to the Jungle will commence soon, with the film anticipated to hit theaters by the end of 2025.
