Alia Bhatt requests a ‘special’ favor from Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Alia Bhatt is seeking a favor from Sanjay Leela Bhansali as she reflects on the now-shelved film Inshallah, which starred Salman Khan.

In an exclusive interview with Lallantop, the actress, currently preparing for Bhansali’s upcoming film Love & War alongside Ranbir Kapoor, expressed her hope to revive the project someday. Describing Inshallah as a “lovely love story,” the 32-year-old stated, “Whatever Sanjay sir decides will be the best for the film!”

Sanjay Leela Bhansali shared Alia Bhatt’s emotional reaction to the film’s cancellation in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, recalling that the Gangubai Kathiawadi star “broke down, cried, and locked herself in her room.” Shortly after, Bhansali offered her a lead role in Gangubai Kathiawadi, which became an overnight success.

For context, Inshallah was shelved due to creative differences between Bhansali and Salman Khan. Producer Jayantilal Gada previously discussed the film’s cancellation with Bollywood Hungama, confirming that the actor-director duo had differing views on the film’s ending.

Meanwhile, Love & War is set to hit theaters on March 20, 2026.
