Sindh has witnessed a significant increase in malaria cases, with over 100,000 reported last week, according to ARY News citing reliable sources.
As per the National Institute of Health (NIH), a total of 106,684 malaria cases were recorded throughout Sindh during the past week.
Larkana reported the highest number of cases at 11,588, followed by Khairpur with 10,681 cases. Other districts reported the following numbers: Qamar with 7,998 cases, Mirpurkhas with 7,230, Dadu with 6,045, Badin with 5,948, Sanghar with 5,703, Tharparkar with 5,126, Tando Allahyar with 4,809, Sukkur with 4,673, Naushehro Feroze with 4,590, Shikarpur with 3,970, and Umerkot with 3,546 cases.
In Karachi, 779 malaria cases were reported last week, including 155 from District West, 135 from East, 82 from Korangi, 52 from South, and six from Kemari.
Last month, Ehtesham Ali, the Health Adviser to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Amin Gandapur, addressed the 54,000 malaria cases reported from various regions of the province this year.
