Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Munnabhai 3’ receives significant news.

Indian filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani has revealed plans to revive the cherished Munna Bhai franchise, with Sanjay Dutt set to reprise his iconic role.

Hirani shared that he has five incomplete scripts for Munna Bhai 3, including titles like Munna Bhai LLB, Munna Bhai Chal Base, and Munna Bhai Chale Amreeka. However, he aims to exceed the success of the previous films, stating, “The next installment has to get better.”

He explained, “I spent six months on a script, got to the interval, and it just wouldn’t progress beyond that.” He acknowledged the difficulty in crafting a unique storyline, noting, “In 100 years of cinema, everything has been said.” Nonetheless, Hirani remains optimistic, affirming, “But yes, I am working on that idea.”

The director also recognized Sanjay Dutt’s enthusiasm for returning to his character, joking that the actor might “come home and threaten” him to complete the project. Hirani emphasized the film’s priority, given Dutt’s eagerness.

Initially titled Munna Bhai Chale America, the project was put on hold following Dutt’s conviction and imprisonment.

Now, Hirani aims to create a memorable film that builds on the success of Munna Bhai MBBS (2003) and Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006).

With a filmography that includes hits like 3 Idiots, PK, Sanju, and Dunki, Hirani stressed the importance of quality over hastiness in bringing this project to life.
