Liam Payne’s upcoming Netflix series Building the Band has been postponed following the singer’s tragic death in a balcony accident.
“Netflix will meet with Liam’s family when the time is appropriate to discuss the series and its potential release,” a source informed the US Sun on Sunday.
“There’s no urgency or pressure to launch the series. It would serve as a heartfelt tribute to Liam, showcasing him at his best in the months leading up to his passing.”
Payne, who was a mentor on a UK-based competition series alongside Nicole Scherzinger from the Pussycat Dolls and Kelly Rowland of Destiny’s Child, sadly passed away on October 16.
The 31-year-old died after falling from a balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He had recently completed filming the series, which was shot at Manchester’s Aviva Studios and wrapped up in August. AJ McLean from the Backstreet Boys hosted the show.
While there is no official release date for the series yet, a source assured that “the show has definitely not been shelved.”
