The horror-comedy franchise Bhool Bhulaiyaa has established itself as a key player in modern Indian cinema, seamlessly blending humor, horror, and cultural themes. The third installment, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, continues the story with Kartik Aaryan reprising his role as Rooh Baba after his success in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
Kartik Aaryan’s Role and Fee Increase
Kartik Aaryan’s portrayal of Ruhaan Randhawa (Rooh Baba) has garnered significant acclaim, especially after he successfully stepped into the lead role previously held by Akshay Kumar in the last film. Following the commercial success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which was made on a budget of about Rs 65 crore, reports suggest that Aaryan has dramatically increased his salary for the upcoming sequel. He earned Rs 15 crore for the second installment and is now reportedly asking for between Rs 45 to Rs 50 crore for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, effectively tripling his fee.
Box Office Success and Impact
The success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was a turning point in Aaryan’s career, significantly boosting his status in the industry. The film received positive reviews and achieved impressive box office results, solidifying Aaryan’s market value. In his previous project, Chandu Champion, where he played India’s first Paralympic gold medallist Murlikant Petkar, he earned Rs 25 crore despite mixed critical reception.
Co-star Fee Adjustments
Alongside Aaryan’s fee increase, his co-star in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Triptii Dimri, has also adjusted her compensation following her standout performance in Animal (2023), for which she earned Rs 40 lakhs. For the upcoming film, Dimri is reportedly charging Rs 80 lakhs, reflecting her growing stature in the industry.
