Israel kills 55 in Gaza, continues strikes on Lebanon

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 55 people have been killed and 192 injured across Gaza in the last 24 hours. In Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes struck at least 25 towns and villages in the Bekaa Valley on Friday, killing dozens, as reported by local authorities.

Meanwhile, aid groups say the third phase of a delayed mass polio vaccination campaign is set to resume in Gaza, following disruptions due to ongoing military strikes and mass displacement of northern Gaza residents, who have been under siege for nearly a month.

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli attacks in Gaza have resulted in at least 43,314 Palestinian deaths and 102,019 injuries. In Israel, approximately 1,139 people were killed, and over 200 were taken captive during Hamas-led attacks on the same day.

In Lebanon, Israeli strikes have killed at least 2,897 people and injured 13,150 since the war on Gaza began, with 30 lives lost in the past 24 hours alone, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry.
