Rajpal Yadav is set to entertain fans once again with his iconic role as Chhota Pandit in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, earning praise from movie enthusiasts for his performance. However, the actor-comedian recently faced backlash for his comments on Diwali firecrackers.
In a video, Yadav had encouraged his fans to avoid bursting firecrackers, citing concerns about air and noise pollution. The statement sparked criticism, leading him to delete the video and later post an apology.
The controversy intensified when a journalist from a leading Hindi publication alleged that Yadav grabbed their camera during an interview and attempted to throw their phone after being questioned about the Diwali remarks.
In a clip from the incident, Yadav is seen in a crowd when a reporter initially asks about his upcoming projects. Yadav replies, “You can expect to see one film every one and a half months.” However, when the reporter mentions his Diwali statement, Yadav is seen covering the camera with his hand, cutting off the question.
In a follow-up apology video on Instagram, Yadav expressed his heartfelt Diwali wishes, saying, “If my video from two days ago hurt anyone’s feelings, I truly apologize. Let’s celebrate Diwali safely and joyfully.”
He emphasized in his caption, “I sincerely apologize. My intention was never to dampen the Diwali spirit. Let’s come together to make this festival joyful for everyone!”
