Daniel Craig’s direct response to James Bond successor sparks viral reaction

During an interview with Variety, Daniel Craig was asked who he would like to see take on the iconic role of James Bond after he stepped down following 2021’s No Time to Die.

When the publication asked, “If you were to pass the James Bond torch, who would you love to see play him?” Craig laughed and replied, “I don’t care.”

Craig first portrayed Agent 007 in 2006’s Casino Royale and went on to star in four more films, culminating in No Time to Die.

In a 2022 interview, Craig expressed no regrets about leaving the franchise, saying, “I had an incredibly fortunate 17 years of my life making this. I literally want to spend the next 20 years trying to unhook it all and try and put it into a place because it was incredible. I left it where I wanted it to be. And that I was given the chance to do that with the last movie.”

As for the future of James Bond, little is known about the next film, its lead, or how producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson will continue the saga after Craig’s departure.

Earlier this year, reports suggested that English actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson, known for playing Pietro Maximoff in Avengers, has been offered the role of Bond, stepping into Craig’s shoes as the suave British agent.
