Varun Dhawan reveals surprising details about co-star Samantha

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Varun Dhawan spoke about his co-star Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s dedication to her work, revealing that she continued shooting despite battling myositis.

“I was really concerned because I remember one day, during a shoot, she closed her eyes and said, ‘It’s just one of those days,’” Dhawan shared.

The Bollywood actor explained that Samantha never disclosed her medical condition to him, and he only became aware of it when an oxygen tank was brought to help her breathe. He recalled a moment during the shoot when, after running past the camera, he saw Samantha collapse in the frame. “I caught her and told the director to ‘pack up,’” he said.

“I didn’t know what to do,” Dhawan added, while Citadel: Honey Bunny director Raj Nidimoru revealed that Samantha was in tears due to the intense pain.

Despite her struggles, Samantha continued filming all her scenes without taking a single break, Nidimoru confirmed.

It is important to note that Citadel: Honey Bunny is the Indian spinoff of the American Citadel series, which stars Priyanka Chopra. Along with Dhawan and Samantha, the series features Bollywood actors Kay Kay Menon, Saqib Saleem, Sikandar Kher, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar, and Kashvi Majumdar in significant roles.

Set in the 1990s, the spy thriller follows stuntman Bunny (Varun Dhawan) and struggling actress Honey (Samantha), whose lives take an unexpected turn when they become involved in espionage.

Directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, the series premiered on November 7.
