KARACHI: A tragic incident unfolded at a private clinic in Karachi’s Akhtar Colony, where a three-year-old girl reportedly died after being administered an incorrect injection, ARY News reported.
The victim’s family stated that they had taken the child to the clinic due to a high fever. After the doctor administered an injection, the girl’s body began to swell. When her parents returned to the clinic seeking help, the doctor applied a bandage and sent them home.
The family, devastated by the loss, shared that the young girl was the youngest of four siblings. They have now decided to pursue legal action against the doctor and have approached the police to initiate a case.
Police identified the clinic’s operator as Dr. Ijaz Ahmed. The child was initially brought to the clinic on Sunday for fever treatment, but after her symptoms worsened and her body swelled, she was returned to the clinic the next day. Her condition deteriorated further, leading her family to take her to Jinnah Hospital, where she sadly passed away.
Authorities have acknowledged the incident and confirmed that an investigation is underway. Police assured the family that legal action would follow a comprehensive inquiry into the case.
