ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has announced November 24 as the date for the final protest in Islamabad, according to a statement by his sister, Aleema Khan, reported by ARY News.
Speaking to reporters in Islamabad, Aleema Khan revealed that her brother had decided on this date for the protest in the federal capital. She accused the government of stealing PTI’s mandate on February 9 and placing selected individuals in power who deprived the people of their rights through the 26 amendments.
On November 9, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur declared that he would not return home until Imran Khan is released. Speaking at a public gathering in Swabi, Gandapur vowed to secure Khan’s release as soon as possible, emphasizing that PTI leaders are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for their founder’s freedom.
“We will not stop until Imran Khan is freed, even if it costs us our lives,” he said. Gandapur reiterated that achieving ‘Haqeeqi Azadi’ (real freedom) and holding those accountable for injustices would require sacrifices.
The chief minister also highlighted that only Imran Khan holds the authority to make decisions within PTI, assuring unity within the party. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan added that Khan’s return is imminent and described the ongoing public gatherings as a referendum against the government that “stole” the people’s mandate.
