Maryam Nawaz, speaking at the event, announced that youth holding degrees in Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Zoology would receive hands-on training in shrimp farming. Additionally, interns will be provided a monthly stipend of Rs 50,000 for six months.

“There’s immense global demand for shrimp, and shrimp farmers should take advantage of it,” she emphasized.

The chief minister added, “Young zoologists will receive training at the Fisheries Department’s shrimp farm in Muzaffargarh.” She also mentioned that applications for the internships can be submitted online via the job portal website.

Earlier, on October 28, Maryam Nawaz launched the ‘Kisan Card Programme’ in Hafizabad to provide essential financial support to small-scale farmers. Through this program, farmers can access loans of up to Rs 150,000 per crop season for purchasing seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides using their Kisan Cards.

During the launch in Hafizabad, CM Maryam Nawaz announced an expanded budget for the initiative, raising the number of Kisan Cards from 500,000 to 750,000. Furthermore, she revealed that farmers with more than 25 acres of land would be eligible to receive free tractors, and she pledged to provide agricultural equipment rentals at no profit to support farmers.
