Shikarpur Katcha Dacoit Fareed Teghani Killed in Police and Rangers’ Operation
A senior superintendent of police (SSP) reported that a group of dacoits launched an attack on a police checkpoint, leading to a violent confrontation. During the operation, notorious dacoit Fareed Teghani was killed.
The SSP revealed that Teghani was involved in a string of serious crimes, including murders, kidnappings for ransom, and various other offenses along the National Highway. He was particularly notorious for using a honey trap to lure victims into abductions and then demanding ransom. The kidnappers recorded the victims’ distressing videos, which were later shared on social media to pressure the families into paying.
The SSP emphasized that the operation would continue until all criminals in the Kacha area are eliminated.
In related news, the Punjab police had previously reported the killing of Shahid Lund, the infamous leader of the Katcha area’s Lund gang. Initially, it was said that Lund had been killed by his own associates, but later reports confirmed that he was shot dead in a joint operation by police forces from Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur.
Shahid Lund, a wanted criminal with a long list of charges, including murder and ransom kidnappings, had been on the run for some time. The Punjab government had announced a reward of Rs 10 million for his capture.
