Jessica Simpson is going through a “challenging time” following her rumoured separation from husband Eric Johnson.
A source told US Weekly that the situation has been “incredibly difficult” for the singer. “It was not an easy decision for her,” the insider added.
Another source revealed that Simpson, 44, and Johnson, 45, are currently “living separately.”
A third source mentioned that the couple is “trying to figure out the separation while minimizing the impact on their kids’ lives as much as possible,” though they are “still working through things.”
Simpson and Johnson, who share three children, have been at the center of divorce rumours, especially after Johnson was spotted without his wedding ring. This follows months of his wife, Lauren Hashian, not wearing hers in social media posts.
The speculation grew after reports emerged that the couple has stopped attending their children’s school events together. “In the past, Jess always went solo or with Eric to these events, but recently, it’s only been Eric,” the insider noted. “There’s been a lot of gossip among the parents.”
Simpson and Johnson are parents to daughters Maxwell, 12, and Birdie, 5, and son Ace, 11.
