Victoria Kjær Theilvig Makes History as First Dane to Win Miss Universe 2024
In a groundbreaking moment, Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark has been crowned Miss Universe 2024, becoming the first-ever Danish contestant to claim the prestigious title.
“I worked so hard to reestablish a name, and standing here today as the first woman from Denmark to win Miss Universe is truly historic. I know both Denmark and Europe will be so proud,” Theilvig said during a press conference following her victory.
The 21-year-old animal protection advocate and diamond business professional triumphed over Miss Nigeria in the final round, with Miss Mexico finishing in third place at the 73rd edition of the pageant, held at the Mexico City Arena.
The star-studded event, attended by thousands, included a vibrant mariachi performance and a special musical appearance by Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas, who performed “Mexicana.”
