Four Arrested in Gruesome Zara Murder Case, Remanded for Further Investigation
The four suspects charged with the brutal murder of Zara were brought to the District Magistrate’s Court under tight security.
District Magistrate Poonam granted the accused a four-day physical remand, following a request by the Motra police who had initially sought a 10-day remand for further investigation. The suspects are scheduled to appear in court again on November 22.
Zara’s horrific murder sent shockwaves across Pakistan. The victim, who was pregnant, was allegedly killed by her mother-in-law and sister-in-law, who then dismembered her body into multiple pieces and disposed of the remains in a nearby village’s abandoned nullah.
Zara’s father, a police officer, became suspicious when he lost contact with his daughter. Upon inquiring with her in-laws, he was told she had eloped. Fearing foul play, he immediately contacted the police and filed an FIR against the accused.
