Pakistani Rupee Strengthens Against the US Dollar

The Pakistani rupee has strengthened against the US dollar, with the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP) reporting that the dollar’s buying and selling rates in the open market stood at Rs 277.50 and Rs 279.00, respectively.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the price of the Euro fell by Rs 1.07, closing at Rs 292.89 compared to the previous day’s Rs 293.96. Meanwhile, the Japanese yen gained 1 paisa, closing at Rs 1.79. The British Pound saw a decrease of Rs 1.51, trading at Rs 351.40, down from Rs 352.91.

The Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal both experienced slight declines, with the Dirham falling by 2 paisa to close at Rs 75.67 and the Riyal dropping by 1 paisa to Rs 74.04.

In interbank trading, the rupee had depreciated by 9 paisa against the US dollar, closing at Rs 278.04, compared to Rs 277.95 from the previous day. According to FAP, the dollar’s buying and selling rates in the open market stood at Rs 277.60 and Rs 279.10, respectively.

The Euro saw a smaller decrease of 21 paisa, closing at Rs 293.96 from Rs 294.17, while the Japanese yen decreased by 1 paisa to Rs 1.78. The British Pound increased by 74 paisa, trading at Rs 352.91, up from Rs 352.17. The Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal both increased by 2 paisa and 1 paisa, respectively, closing at Rs 75.69 and Rs 74.05.
