AR Rahman’s son responds to rumours about his father’s connection to Mohini Dey.

Following the announcement of the separation between Indian music legend AR Rahman and Saira Banu, rumors began circulating, connecting their divorce to Rahman’s bassist, Mohini Dey.

Just days before the announcement, Rahman and Saira Banu revealed their decision to part ways after 29 years of marriage, as confirmed by their lawyer Vandana Shah. The next day, Mohini Dey also confirmed her separation from her husband, music composer Mark Hartsuch, fueling further speculation.

In response to these rumors, AR Rahman’s son, AR Ameen, addressed the situation, defending his father’s character. He stated that AR Rahman is respected not only for his musical genius but also for his values, urging people to avoid spreading false information. “My father is a legend, known for his incredible contributions and the respect and love he has earned over the years. It’s disheartening to see baseless rumors being spread,” Ameen wrote on Instagram. “Let’s all remember the importance of truth and respect when speaking about someone’s life and legacy.”

Ameen further emphasized the need to respect his father’s dignity, highlighting the profound impact Rahman has had on his fans and followers.

AR Rahman and Saira Banu, who married in 1995, have three children together: daughters Khatija and Raheema, and son Ameen. In a joint statement from their lawyer, it was revealed that the emotional strain in their relationship led to the decision to divorce. Despite their deep love for each other, they acknowledged that the difficulties had created an insurmountable gap between them.
