Bushra Bibi and CM Gandapur ‘head’ PTI convoy towards Islamabad

A dispute between Bushra Bibi and Ali Amin Gandapur has reportedly delayed the PTI convoy’s departure from Peshawar.

As per the original plan, Gandapur was tasked with leading the convoy. However, sources claim Bushra Bibi has expressed her desire to take charge, sparking tension within the party.

Gandapur allegedly reminded her, “The party founder has clarified you are not involved in politics,” urging her to stay home while he leads the group. This internal conflict has disrupted the convoy’s plans, further complicating PTI’s strategy amid ongoing nationwide protests.

In response to PTI’s planned demonstration in Islamabad, authorities have sealed entry and exit points in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

Major routes, including Faizabad Flyover, Murree Road, Motorway, Rawat, T-Chowk, Taxila, Margalla, and Mandrah, are blocked, along with key highways like the Murree Expressway and Hazara Expressway. Containers and heavy police deployment have tightened security.

Over 6,000 officers are stationed across Rawalpindi, and police have arrested more than 170 PTI activists during overnight raids. Prisoner transport vehicles have been brought in to handle the detainees.

PTI is set to hold nationwide protests today, following a call from party founder Imran Khan.
