Mashal Yousafzai reveals what motivated Bushra Bibi to head to D-Chowk

In an interview with a private news channel, Mashal Yousafzai clarified that Bushra Bibi did not meet anyone after returning from the November 24 protest.

Mashal explained that contact with Bushra Bibi was lost following the stampede, and they only reconnected two days later when she joined Bushra at Sangjani.

She further revealed, “We were told that the PTI founder had instructed them to stop at Sangjani, but Bushra Bibi wanted to hear directly from her husband regarding the protest at D-Chowk.”

Yousafzai added, “PTI leaders informed Bushra Bibi that she must go to D-Chowk. Knowing this, she felt she could not abandon the plan. She had been entrusted with a critical responsibility by the party founder and was determined to honor that trust.”

Mashal also shared that Bushra Bibi repeatedly emphasized during the protest that Imran Khan had ordered them to reach D-Chowk. She confirmed that chemicals had damaged the windscreen of Bushra’s car, making visibility difficult.

“They suggested switching vehicles to continue to the protest site, but instead, they took her to Mansehra. Her sister, Maryam Watoo, was not present, and as someone on the ground, I can confirm this with certainty,” she stated.

Earlier in the day, PTI’s political committee convened a meeting at Bushra Bibi’s suggestion to review the performance of National and Provincial Assembly members during the sit-in.
