PTI founder remains in Adiala Jail, not transferred: Jail sources

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan is currently held in Adiala Jail and remains in good health, ARY News reported on Sunday, citing jail sources.

The clarification came after rumors suggested Khan had been transferred to another location. Sources confirmed he is housed in a cell within the jurisdiction of the New Town Police Station and is under physical remand until December 2 in relation to a case filed during the September 28 protest.

Health and Well-Being

Jail authorities reported that Khan undergoes daily medical checkups by jail hospital doctors, who have confirmed his blood pressure and sugar levels are normal. He maintains his fitness with regular exercise twice a day.

In line with jail manual guidelines, all necessary facilities are being provided, including special care for his diet and overall well-being. Authorities assured that all arrangements for his comfort and health are in place.

May 9 Convictions

On Saturday, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore found Imran Khan guilty in cases related to the events of May 9 and denied him bail in eight separate cases.

The six-page judgment, authored by Judge Manzar Ali Gul, cited substantial evidence against Khan, including audio and video recordings of him allegedly inciting violence. Witnesses testified that Khan orchestrated a conspiracy at Zaman Park, directing his supporters to disrupt state operations in anticipation of his arrest.

Khan’s legal team argued for bail, stating that he had already been detained during the events in question and citing precedents where bail was granted under similar circumstances. However, the court rejected the plea.
