Kannada actress Shobitha Shivanna was discovered dead in her apartment in Hyderabad’s Kondapur area, officials confirmed on Monday.
Authorities suspect suicide as the cause of death, though the exact circumstances remain uncertain. According to Gachibowli police, the 32-year-old actress was found hanging in her residence. “An investigation has been initiated to uncover the precise details surrounding her death,” a police representative stated. Her body was sent to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Shobitha Shivanna, a rising talent in the Kannada film industry, was celebrated for her performances in films like Eradondla Mooru, ATM: Attempt to Murder, and Vandana. She also played roles in blockbusters like U-Turn and the K.G.F series. On television, she appeared in popular serials such as Gaalipata, Mangala Gowri, and Brahmagantu.
The news of her sudden death has shocked the entertainment industry, with tributes pouring in from fans and colleagues. Actress Geeta Bharti Bhatt expressed her sorrow by sharing photos of the two on Instagram, writing, “RIP Shobitha avre. You shouldn’t have left us this way. Your smile, love for life, and presence will be deeply missed.”
Born and raised in Bengaluru, Shobitha pursued her passion for acting from a young age. She attended Baldwin Girls High School and graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Bengaluru. Her career took off after her debut in the 2015 film RangiTaranga, which marked a significant turning point in her life.
