Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has unequivocally stated that the party will not face a ban, despite the political unrest surrounding its protests and confrontations with security forces.
Speaking to reporters after meeting PTI founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, Barrister Gohar condemned the violence during the demonstrations but assured that Imran Khan would soon outline the party’s future course of action.
Addressing the media, Gohar clarified that Imran Khan was unaware of the controversial shooting incident on November 26, when gunfire erupted during a PTI-led protest.
“We are a peaceful party committed to political engagement. Regardless of where the bullet came from, we strongly condemn it. Our workers are enduring challenging conditions,” he said, emphasizing PTI’s commitment to non-violence. Gohar added that Imran Khan would provide further directives in due time.

Barrister Gohar also refuted rumors about Imran Khan’s health, stating, “Alhamdulillah, he is perfectly fine and in good health.” He dismissed allegations of mental distress or poisoning in jail, assuring the media of Imran Khan’s well-being following claims made by PTI leader Qasim Khan Suri.
Suri had previously alleged that Imran Khan was subjected to mental stress and possibly poisoned in his cell, claims that Gohar firmly denied.
The November 26 protests, initiated by Imran Khan’s call for a march to Islamabad, turned violent when clashes erupted between PTI supporters and police. Conflicting reports followed, with PTI claiming several worker fatalities, while law enforcement officials reported over 170 injuries among police officers due to alleged attacks by protesters.
Gohar expressed sorrow over the loss of lives on both sides, revealing that Imran Khan deeply regretted the casualties and injuries sustained during the protests. He also criticized the propaganda surrounding these events, describing it as an attempt to create divisions.

Gohar questioned whether violence during political unrest, such as the incidents at D-Chowk and Sang Jani, should go uninvestigated. He called for the formation of a commission to probe these events, citing past inquiries like the Model Town tragedy.
Imran Khan has directed the PTI leadership to submit a requisition for a National Assembly session to discuss the situation and advocate for an impartial investigation into the violence during the protests.
