Blaze erupts at Rimpa Plaza on Karachi’s M.A. Jinnah Road

Rescue 1122 spokesperson confirmed that rescue teams, including fire brigade trucks and ambulances, were immediately dispatched upon receiving the alarm.

The fourth and fifth floors of Rimpa Plaza have suffered significant damage, rescue officials reported. They added that the fire continues to rage due to the presence of tires, plastic goods, and spare parts shops within the building.

No casualties or reports of individuals trapped in the affected building have been reported. Efforts are ongoing to extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.

In a similar incident in September, a major fire at an illegal petrol pump in Karachi’s Shah Faisal area claimed one life. The petrol pump, operating unlawfully under a residential building, posed significant risks to residents.

The fire quickly spread, trapping people inside the building. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Korangi, Tauheed Mumtaz, confirmed that the blaze resulted in one fatality. Rescue operations successfully evacuated those stranded on the rooftop, and the fire was completely extinguished.

SSP Mumtaz noted that the petrol pump had been shut down by authorities a month and a half earlier. However, the owner obtained court orders preventing further action.
