The true causes of Pakistan’s internet slowdown.

The system responsible for monitoring and controlling internet traffic at the gateway level is reportedly facing issues, leading to disruptions in nationwide connectivity.

Sources suggest that the web management system was implemented to block illegal content and identify propaganda accounts. While it has successfully restricted thousands of URLs and mobile apps, technical glitches have hindered its proper functioning, resulting in slower internet speeds.

According to an insider, “The internet speed is being affected due to the unusual management of online content,” and efforts to optimize the system are ongoing.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has refrained from commenting on whether the web management system is directly causing the disruptions. However, sources confirm that the system’s role in controlling internet traffic has led to unintended consequences.

Both citizens and businesses have expressed frustration over the slow internet, which has impacted essential services and online operations. Many have urged the PTA and relevant authorities to address the technical issues promptly.

The PTA has yet to issue an official statement, leaving users uncertain about when the connectivity problems will be fully resolved.
