Karachi faces major traffic congestion due to protest

KARACHI: Protest by Visually Impaired Causes Major Traffic Chaos

Residents of Karachi faced significant difficulties on Tuesday as a protest by visually impaired individuals led to massive traffic congestion across the city, ARY News reported.

The protest, along with shipping delays at China port, has resulted in severe traffic jams, effectively bringing parts of the city to a halt.

Several areas, including Saddar, are experiencing gridlock, with a sit-in taking place at Deen Muhammad Wafai Road.

Traffic flow has been heavily disrupted at Shaheen Complex and I.I. Chandrigar Road, where vehicles are backed up for long stretches.

Adding to the chaos, a ship anchored at the China port has caused delays in gate pass processing, leading to long lines of heavy traffic. The traffic situation worsened during peak hours.

Traffic police have advised commuters to use alternative routes and warned that it may take some time for normal traffic conditions to resume.

Additionally, traffic around Jinnah Bridge Kemari has been blocked due to heavy traffic queues.
