PTI announces willingness to engage in talks

PESHAWAR:
The senior leadership of PTI reaffirmed their commitment to resolving issues through legal and constitutional channels on Sunday, announcing the formation of a negotiation committee by the party’s founder to facilitate dialogue.

At a joint press conference with senior PTI leaders, National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar Ayub revealed that the committee comprises himself, Hamid Raza, Asad Qaiser, and Ali Amin Gandapur. He invited interested parties to engage with the committee for constructive discussions.

Ayub, joined by former speaker Asad Qaiser, Senate opposition leader Shibli Faraz, and the party’s information secretary Sheikh Waqas, emphasized, “If anyone wants to engage in talks, the PTI’s doors are open.”

He also reiterated the party’s position that 12 people were killed during the government’s crackdown on PTI protesters in Islamabad on November 26, and claimed that over 200 protesters remained missing. “Our workers are being pressured to falsely declare their injuries as accidental,” he said.

Ayub warned that if justice was not delivered to their “martyrs” and their demands were not met, PTI would be forced to resort to a civil disobedience movement. He announced that a prayer ceremony would be held in Pakistan on December 13 and abroad on December 15 to honor the party’s martyred workers.
