Bahawalnagar: Woman and Sons Arrested for Husband’s Murder in Punjab

In a chilling case from Fort Abbas, a city in Punjab’s Bahawalnagar district, a woman and her two sons have been arrested for murdering her husband and burying his body in their home’s courtyard, according to ARY News.

The victim, Muhammad Iqbal, had been reported missing for over six weeks. His body was discovered after his mother raised suspicions and alerted the police. Authorities have confirmed the arrest of the suspects, with investigations into the crime ongoing.

Mother Murders Two Children in Nawabshah

On December 19, another tragic incident unfolded in Nawabshah, where a woman brutally killed her two children by slitting their throats. The crime occurred within the jurisdiction of the Airport Police Station.

The suspect, identified as Komal Sheikh, was apprehended and confessed during interrogation. She admitted to killing her children in separate rooms but refused to disclose her motive.

Rescue teams shifted the children’s bodies to a hospital for post-mortem examinations. The police recovered the murder weapon and continue to investigate.

Pregnant Woman Murdered by In-Laws in Daska

A similarly harrowing incident occurred on November 15, 2024, when a seven-month pregnant woman was murdered by her mother-in-law and sister-in-law in Kotli Marlan village, Daska.

The victim, Zehra, a 26-year-old mother, was dismembered, with her body concealed in a canal to cover up the crime. Police reported that her mother-in-law, Sughra Bibi, and her sister-in-law, Yasmeen, carried out the heinous act. They severed her limbs, burned her head, and spread false rumors that she had eloped.

Zehra, originally from Gujranwala, had been married to Qadeer of Kotli Marlan for four years. The brutal murder has left the nation in shock as investigations continue.
