Jannat Mirza, Pakistan’s leading TikTok star, recently explained why she prefers TikTok over traditional cinema.
With a massive following of over 10 million on Instagram, Mirza made her acting debut in Syed Noor’s “Tere Bajre Di Rakhi,” but the film didn’t perform well at the box office. Since then, she has turned her focus to modeling and social media.
Mirza shared that her preference for TikTok is due to the changing entertainment habits of today’s youth. “Young people today prefer scrolling through TikTok at home, where they can watch my content anytime,” she said.
She feels that cinema no longer attracts the younger generation, who prefer using their mobile phones at home, especially considering the high cost of cinema tickets, which many can’t afford for their entire family.
Her perspective highlights the growing trend of social media platforms like TikTok overtaking traditional cinema, particularly among younger audiences.
