Karachi: Fire Erupts at NICH Following Short Circuit
A fire broke out on the fourth floor of the National Institute of Child Health (NICH) in Karachi, reportedly caused by a short circuit, ARY News reported on Sunday.
According to hospital authorities, the blaze started on the fourth floor, with smoke reaching the fifth floor of the building. While some equipment sustained damage, no casualties were reported. Children receiving treatment were safely moved to other wards as a precautionary measure.
Rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene and successfully extinguished the fire, preventing further harm.

In an earlier incident, a newborn sustained severe burn injuries when an incubator caught fire in the ICU of NICH. The hospital administration attributed the fire to a short circuit and confirmed an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the tragic event.
