Aagha Ali recently reflected on relationships and the lessons he has learned, following his amicable separation from former wife Hina Altaf. Appearing on a local morning show, the Band Baja Aur Bajiya actor emphasized the importance of effort and patience in making a marriage flourish.
“Marriage is the most beautiful bond,” Aagha remarked. “For me, it’s not about someone cooking or cleaning. What truly matters is how much effort you put in to make your partner feel loved. A thriving relationship demands 100% effort, patience, and hard work.”
He highlighted the dangers of complacency in a relationship, warning against taking a partner for granted. “If either partner stops showing appreciation or engaging actively, the relationship risks becoming stale,” he explained. “It’s a mutual responsibility – both men and women need to regularly reassure their partners of their presence and care. Don’t ever take each other for granted.”
Aagha elaborated on the negative impact of assumptions in marriage. “When people think, ‘This person isn’t going anywhere,’ that’s where most marriages fail. Complacency leads to neglect, which can erode the foundation of a relationship.”
Speaking about his own experience, Aagha remained respectful and discreet about his divorce from Hina Altaf. The couple, who tied the knot in May 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, parted ways after four years of marriage. “I got divorced more than a year and a half ago,” he said. “I only wish her health and happiness. It’s not appropriate to discuss someone who isn’t present to share their perspective.“
Aagha also shared the challenges of coping with a major life change. “Divorce leaves a void, and it takes time to heal,” he admitted. “I’ve been away from shooting for the past eight months to give myself that time. That period of emptiness can take a toll, but it’s important to process and move forward. Thank God, I’ve come out stronger.”
