Preparations for the wedding of Zaid Hussain Nawaz, grandson of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, have been finalized, Express News reported on Monday. Zaid, the son of Hussain Nawaz—recently declared bankrupt by a British court—is set to tie the knot with an array of international guests expected to attend.
Sources within the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz reveal that the grand celebrations will host attendees from the US, UK, Europe, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, India, and neighboring countries.
To accommodate the esteemed guests, 25 to 30 rooms have been reserved at the Faisalabad Hotel, and the State Guest House has been prepared for hosting.
Sharif family members residing abroad, including Nawaz Sharif’s younger daughter, Asma Nawaz, have already returned to Pakistan for the event. Hussain Nawaz and his family have also arrived in Lahore, as confirmed by insiders.
Punjab Police have made special security arrangements for the high-profile local and international guests.
The wedding festivities will commence with Zaid’s Nikah on December 25, coinciding with the Henna ceremony at Jati Umra, which will host 500 guests. The wedding ceremony is scheduled for December 27, while the grand Valima reception, with 700 attendees, will take place on December 29.
