SBP Declares Wednesday a Bank Holiday

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has declared Wednesday, January 1, 2025, a “Bank Holiday,” meaning all banks across the country will remain closed for public transactions.

This closure applies to all commercial banks, development financial institutions, and microfinance banks nationwide.

While public transactions will be suspended, bank employees, including those at financial institutions and microfinance banks, are required to report to work as usual.

Customers are advised to plan their financial activities in advance, as services such as cash withdrawals, deposits, and other over-the-counter transactions will not be available on this day.
