ISLAMABAD – Following a stretch of hot and humid weather, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain in several regions across the country over the next 24 hours. Areas expecting rain, windstorms, or thundershowers include Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Potohar region, Islamabad, Northeast Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir. Additionally, heavy rain or hailstorms are forecasted for isolated areas in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Potohar region, Islamabad, and Kashmir.
Other parts of the country will continue to experience hot and humid conditions. According to the PMD, moist currents from the Bay of Bengal are expected to enter the upper regions of the country starting Wednesday night. A westerly wave is also anticipated to impact the northern areas from September 26, which may contribute to the weather shift.
In the last 24 hours, most regions experienced continued heat and humidity, with some of the highest temperatures recorded in Nokkundi at 43°C, and 42°C in Dadu, Dalbandin, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mohenjo Daro, and Rohri.
