QUETTA – A gas explosion in a coal mine in the Sanjdi, Spin Karez area of Quetta led to a collapse, trapping 12 miners inside.
The chief mines inspector reported that the explosion occurred late last night due to the accumulation of gas in the mine. The collapse has made rescue efforts difficult, especially given the dark conditions.
Rescue teams are currently working to clear a path to reach the trapped miners, and authorities have stated that significant progress has been made in the operation, which is still ongoing.
