DI KHAN:
Two people were killed, and three others were injured in a shooting incident at a jirga in Lakki district.
Reports indicate that the incident took place at Gandi Chowk, Sarai Naurang Tehsil, during a jirga involving parties from North Waziristan. The victims include Sub-Inspector Rizwanullah Wazir from Dosali Tehsil and Khitabullah. The injured individuals have been identified as Iqbal, Irfanullah, and Muhammad Anwar.
Iqbal Wazir, one of the injured, was initially treated at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Naurang and later referred to Bannu for further treatment. Sources indicate that Iqbal Wazir is the brother of the deceased Khitabullah.
In a separate incident, four women and children were severely injured in a missile attack from an unknown direction in North Waziristan.
The missile struck the house of a man named Norey in the village of Moski, Mir Ali Tehsil, North Waziristan, while the women and children were cooking. The explosion caused significant injuries to the victims. Additionally, explosives were found in South Waziristan and successfully neutralized by bomb disposal teams.
The suspicious explosive material had been placed near an under-construction building on Kadi Kot Road between Wana and Scouts Camp in South Waziristan Lower. Upon receiving the tip-off, the Bomb Disposal Unit swiftly responded to the location.
