BIEK Announces Fee Waiver for Scrutiny of Intermediate Part-I Results
KARACHI: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has waived the scrutiny fee for Intermediate Part-I students dissatisfied with their results.
According to a notification, the decision was made under the special directives of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. BIEK Chairman Dr. Syed Sharaf Ali Shah announced the abolition of scrutiny fees for students in the Science Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, Science General, Commerce Private, Arts Private, and Home Economics groups of the 2024 Intermediate Part-I Annual Examinations, prioritizing students’ interests.
The BIEK chairman instructed the examination controller to ensure that the scrutiny process is completed within 30 days. To facilitate students, special counters have been established at the BIEK inquiry for male students and the facilitation centre for female students. Students can also download the scrutiny form from the official BIEK website at www.biek.edu.pk.
An inquiry committee comprising senior teachers was previously formed to address grievances related to the Intermediate Part-I results.
This development follows a recent controversy surrounding the results, which led to the dismissal of former BIEK Chairman Ameer Qadri. The decision was approved by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, who also holds the relevant portfolio. Qadri was removed after a foreign tour without prior approval.
In the interim, Chairman of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK), Sharaf Ali, has taken on additional responsibilities as BIEK chairman.
