Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was hospitalized after a violent attack at his Mumbai home during an attempted burglary.
The 54-year-old actor, famous for his roles in films like Race, was reportedly stabbed six times by an intruder who broke into his Bandra residence around 2:30 am.
According to the police, the attacker fled before they arrived on the scene, and the case is under investigation.
Saif Ali Khan was quickly taken to Lilavati Hospital where he underwent surgery for multiple stab wounds, two of which were deep and dangerously close to his spine. The full extent of his injuries will be determined after the surgery.
Saif Ali Khan’s children, Ibrahim Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan, were seen at the hospital, while his team released a statement saying, “There was an attempted burglary at Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently undergoing surgery. We request patience and will keep everyone updated on his situation.”
According to an insider, the incident occurred around 1:00 am when a nanny at the house noticed the intruder armed with a knife. She alerted others, including Saif, who tried to intervene and protect his family. The assailant then attacked him before fleeing.
The family has also issued a statement requesting privacy. “It is a police matter, and we ask the media and fans to remain patient as we await further updates,” they said.
The news of Saif Ali Khan’s hospitalization has shocked the Bollywood community, with fans and celebrities expressing their support. At this time, his condition remains critical, and the investigation continues as authorities work to apprehend the attacker.
