Bollywood Actor Saif Ali Khan Attacked at Mumbai Home; Main Suspect Arrested
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his Bandra residence in Mumbai in the early hours of January 16, leaving fans and the film fraternity in shock.
Mumbai Police arrested the main suspect 30 hours after the incident. A video showing the accused being escorted to the Bandra police station has gone viral, while investigations into the case remain ongoing.
The attack, allegedly part of a burglary attempt at the ‘Satguru Sharan’ building, was captured on CCTV. The footage shows the intruder entering the premises with a wooden stick and a Hexa blade before escaping through a rear gate not monitored by security cameras.
The suspect, wearing a brown collared T-shirt and a red scarf, was seen descending the staircase from the sixth floor around 2:33 a.m. His apparent familiarity with the building’s layout allowed him to avoid most security cameras.
The horrifying incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. when Saif reportedly heard commotion in Jeh’s room, where one of his staff members was being attacked. When Saif intervened, a scuffle ensued, during which he was stabbed six times. Both Saif and the staff member sustained injuries but are now recovering. Saif underwent surgery and is reported to be out of danger.
Mumbai Police mobilized 20 search teams to track down the attacker. Alongside the suspect, two laborers working on the building’s terrace are being questioned to determine if the intruder had inside help.
Kareena Kapoor Khan issued a statement following the incident, confirming the attempted burglary and Saif’s injury. She assured fans that Saif is undergoing treatment and the family is safe, urging the media to avoid speculation. Later, she shared a heartfelt appeal, requesting privacy and understanding during this challenging time.
Soha Ali Khan, along with other family members and close friends, visited Saif in the hospital to offer support. Fans and well-wishers continue to send prayers for his swift recovery.
