Ghulam Haider Urges Indian Government to Repatriate His Children
KARACHI: Ghulam Haider, the ex-husband of Pakistani woman Seema Haider, has appealed to the Indian government for the return of his four children, alleging they are being coerced into converting to Hinduism.
Seema Haider, a Pakistani citizen, married Indian national Sachin Meena after entering India illegally with her children. The couple reportedly met through PUBG Mobile and later tied the knot in Nepal.
In a video shared on social media, Ghulam Haider expressed his anguish, stating, “It has been a year since my children—Farhan Khan, Farwa Batool, Fariha Batool, and Farah Batool—have been stuck in India.” He added, “Seema is now facing legal cases in Indian courts, but my children are my world. They have been away from their father and roots, and I haven’t seen them since 2023.”
Ghulam Haider further alleged that his children are being forced to change their religion.
He called on Indian Home Minister Amit Shah and Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar to facilitate the children’s return to Pakistan and ensure justice.
Previously, Pakistan’s National Commission for Rights of Children (NCRC) also called for the repatriation of the children. In a letter to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the NCRC chairperson urged the government to address the matter with Indian authorities to secure the safe return of the children, citing concerns over forced religious conversion.
