KARACHI – The Inspector General (IG) of Sindh has directed the installation of CCTV cameras in all police stations across the province for enhanced monitoring, as reported by Dunya News on Saturday.
Cameras will be placed in the rooms of Station House Officers (SHOs), Moharrars, duty officers, and lock-ups, with a surveillance camera also positioned at the main entrance of each police station.
The IG has instructed all Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to ensure the cameras are installed and operational, with a report to be submitted to him within two days.
TWO ROBBERS KILLED IN DASKA ‘ENCOUNTER’
In Daska, two suspected robbers were shot dead during a police ‘encounter’ in the Sadar police area.
The suspects, identified as Nadeem and Akhtar from Arifwala, were reportedly killed by gunfire from their own accomplices.
Police claimed the suspects were involved in numerous serious crimes. Their bodies have been sent for autopsy.
