A police inspector, identified as Saifullah Niazi, was shot dead by a shopkeeper in Lahore’s Shera Kot area on Tuesday.
According to police sources, Inspector Niazi was on duty at the Motorway Babu Sabu Interchange when a minor altercation with a shopkeeper escalated. The shopkeeper, in a fit of rage, opened fire, killing the inspector on the spot.
Following the incident, a Dolphin Police team apprehended the shopkeeper, identified as Adeel, and handed him over to Shera Kot police.
Authorities have recovered the murder weapon, and further investigations are underway.
