The Supreme Court has accepted petitions challenging the 26th Constitutional Amendment for formal hearing.
An eight-member constitutional bench, headed by Justice Amin-ud-Din, has issued notices to the federal government and other relevant parties.
The court has requested a detailed response from the federal government regarding the amendment. Notices have also been issued concerning requests for a full court formation and live broadcasting of the proceedings.
The next hearing is set to take place in three weeks, providing time for all parties to submit their responses.
