Supreme Court Admits Petitions Challenging 26th Constitutional Amendment for Formal Hearing

The Supreme Court has accepted petitions challenging the 26th Constitutional Amendment for formal hearing.

An eight-member constitutional bench, headed by Justice Amin-ud-Din, has issued notices to the federal government and other relevant parties.

The court has requested a detailed response from the federal government regarding the amendment. Notices have also been issued concerning requests for a full court formation and live broadcasting of the proceedings.

The next hearing is set to take place in three weeks, providing time for all parties to submit their responses.
