LAHORE: The University of Health Sciences Lahore (UHSL) has announced the results of the 2024 Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) for Punjab, with over 90% of candidates passing the exam.
According to UHSL, two female candidates, Zainab Munir and Iqra Azam, jointly topped the MDCAT by achieving 199 out of 200 marks.
The exam, conducted on September 22, attracted 56,519 candidates from across Punjab. Of these, 48,051 candidates secured 55% or more marks, which is the minimum requirement for admission to medical colleges, while 2,967 candidates obtained at least 50% marks necessary for dental college admissions.

Earlier, on September 24, Khyber Medical University (KMU) officially announced the results of the MDCAT 2024 exam. In that test, over 42,300 candidates participated, with six examination centers established by the PMDC across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Each center was overseen by a Senior Superintendent of Police (SP) and an Assistant Commissioner to ensure a smooth examination process.
According to a spokesperson for the university, Mahboob Ali and Qaiser Ali achieved the highest score of 194 marks.
In the MDCAT 2024 exam, a total of 24,518 students qualified for BDS programs, while 21,355 were declared eligible for MBBS programs. KMU also reported that 38 candidates scored more than 190 marks, and 658 students were absent from the exam.
