KHANEWAL: Unknown armed assailants shot and killed a broker while looting Rs 5 million during a robbery attempt in the jurisdiction of Serai Sidhu police station.
Police reports reveal that four unidentified armed suspects, riding motorcycles, intercepted a vehicle carrying local traders near Nandpur village. When Muhammad Hussain attempted to resist, the robbers opened fire, killing him instantly, before fleeing the scene.
Authorities have cordoned off the area and formed teams to track down the fleeing suspects.
Earlier, a man was also killed while resisting a robbery at his tyre shop near the government Islamia Law College in Karachi.
In that incident, Hassan Arif, working at his tyre shop near the Islamia College roundabout, tried to thwart the armed robbers. However, one of the robbers shot him in the chest, resulting in fatal injuries. Despite the nearby rally, the assailants managed to escape unharmed.
