Nadia Jamil, a beloved Pakistani actress known for her exceptional performances and humanitarian work, recently shared a lighthearted yet memorable story about Imran Khan from her youth.
During an interview with Fuchsia, Nadia recalled an incident from her teenage years when she was dating her now-husband, Ali Pervaiz. The couple had gone for a drive after meeting at a friend’s house when they were suddenly stopped by the police. At the time, during President Zia’s era, authorities frequently checked couples for marriage certificates (Nikkah Namas).
Taken to the police station, Nadia hesitated to call her father and instead reached out to her uncle, Yousaf Salahuddin. Unbeknownst to her, he was hosting guests at his house—including her father. Soon after, five people arrived at the station, including cricket legend and future Prime Minister Imran Khan. The officers, recognizing Khan, served him tea, and the matter was quickly resolved, allowing Nadia and Ali to leave without trouble.
